This is a made-at-home project of an atom. On the right, there is a picture of the atom I made which was Cadmium. It needs to look similar to the atom that we choose with the same amount of electrons, protons, and neutrons. The skill I think best fits into this project is thinking and problem solving because there were many problems with this projects, for example, what supplies to use, and how to turn it in. I also had to come up with solutions that would be more efficient and useful like minimizing the supplies bought. What I am most proud of from doing this assignment is the way it turned out. Although my model wasn't made from my original pan, it still came out looking better than expected. I improved my thinking and problem solving skills by expanding my mind to different possibilities and outcomes. The most difficult thing about completing this task was not to get distracted and getting the supplies that I need to make the project. If I would improve this project, I would’ve used beads instead of cotton balls because I burned myself with the hot glue gun 7 times.
Considering that we were learning about atoms in my chemistry class, I was able to broaden my knowledge about the use of different atoms and how they are either harmful or useful. |
